Is it good to drink kumquat water?

by

Kumquats - are sour fruits that are often used to flavor dishes and drinks. Especially, kumquat water is a drink that many people love in the summer. So, is it good to drink kumquat water?

Drinking blueberry water properly is good for health. Here are the health benefits of kumquat water:

Control cholesterol levels

Healthbefitsof said that some studies have found that this water can help you lower cholesterol levels, which is an important step to lose weight and avoid metabolic syndrome.

It may also help reduce the risk of atherosclerosis, heart attack and stroke.

Increased immunity

Blueberries contain a lot of vitamin C and other beneficial nutrients, this water is used as an immune booster.

Improves eye health

An article in Health & Life Newspaper said that blueberries contain reasonable amounts of vitamin A in the form of beta carotene. It is one of the 11 carotenoids in blueberries. Many studies have found that carotenoids such as beta carotene, zeaxanthin, and lutein help improve eye health.

Our eyes contain rhodopsin. It is the protein compound that allows us to see places with low light. However, inadequate production of rhodopsin can cause night blindness. Vitamin A is an essential component for the production of rhodopsin. Therefore, blueberries contain a large amount of vitamin A, which plays an important role for healthy vision.

Improves bone health

Our bodies need calcium to form and maintain healthy teeth and bones. So, insufficient consumption of calcium-rich foods during a critical period of development of life can lead to a number of diseases such as dwarfism, tooth decay, osteoporosis ,... Vitamin C also plays an important role in bone formation. In addition, vitamin C helps in the formation of collagen. Therefore, getting adequate amounts of this vitamin can improve skin and bone health.

Blueberries contain large amounts of calcium and vitamin C. Studies suggest that vitamin C may have a useful role in preventing bone diseases such as osteoporosis. Acidic foods can increase the risk of bone diseases by withdrawing calcium from the bones. Since blueberries are alkaline fruits, they aid in reducing the risk of developing osteoporosis.

Prevents weight gain and obesity

Another flavonoid found in blueberries, called poncirin, may have a significant role in preventing obesity. One study found that poncirin may reduce the risk of weight gain by preventing the formation of new fat cells in the body.

In addition, they are rich sources of fiber. Because they move slowly through the digestive tract, they keep you feeling full longer. They reduce appetite and the tendency to snack unhealthily.

Blueberries are complex carbohydrates because they contain a reasonable amount of fiber. Therefore, they take longer to pass through the intestines because digestive enzymes cannot break them down in the body. Fiber passes through the digestive tract without being digested by enzymes produced in the stomach. Therefore, when you eat more fiber, you will feel full longer. They help curb appetite, which, in turn, prevents weight gain.

Improves respiratory health

The powerful citric acid content in kumquat juice helps clear phlegm and mucus, where infections often reside and spread while reducing inflammation in the throat, respiratory tract.

Chinese automakers find Vietnam appealing

by

Six Chinese carmakers, Chery, Wuling, Haima, Haval, Zhidou, and Lynk & Co, are present in the Vietnamese market or announced plans to enter it.

The appearance of Chinese automakers over the past two years has been increasing options for Vietnamese consumers on top of the familiar brands from Japan, South Korea, the U.S., and Germany.

Chery said it expects to start selling vehicles in Vietnam from early 2024. Chery will sell cars made by its affiliates Omoda and Jaecoo, and the first batches of Omoda 5, S5, S5 GT, and Jaecoo 7 are on the way to Vietnam.

Wuling entered Vietnam by partnering with local company TMT Motors to assemble its most successful model, the Hongguang Mini EV.

Before its launch on June 29 the vehicle had caused a sensation as people expected it to cost less than VND200 million (US$8,470).

But things cooled down when its prices were announced at VND239-279 million. It does offer great advantages like compact size, agility and the cheapest prices on the market.

Wuling currently sells only one model, the Hongguang Mini EV, but TMT has said it will assemble others in future.

Haima has a local distribution partner, Carvivu, and its first model in Vietnam is expected to be the MPV 7X, which will compete with the likes of Mitsubishi Xpander and Toyota Veloz. Haima cars will be imported.

The Chinese automaker also plans to bring the electric version of 7X, 7X-E, and a C-segment CUV, Haima 8S.

Carvivu said Haima plans to start selling in Vietnam in the second half of this year with two showrooms in Hanoi and one in Ho Chi Minh City.

In early August, the Haval H6 HEV was launched in Hanoi, kicking off business of the Chinese carmaker in the Vietnamese market.

Haval has only one showroom in Hanoi but plans to expand its distribution network soon. The H6 is a C-segment CUV imported from Thailand with a 1.5-liter hybrid engine and a price of VND1.096 billion.

Its production in and import from Thailand means it does not attract tariffs.

Zhidou displayed its Zhidou A01 at an exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City in mid-May. The Chinese carmaker said it would sell the commercial version of the car from the end of 2023.

Zhidou said it would set up a joint venture in Vietnam to assemble cars, with the logo and brand names customized for the local market.
The company has said it will set up a large charging network throughout Vietnam when it starts selling the A01 model.

Lynk & Co belonging to Geely will appear in Vietnam in October with four imported models. Its local distributor, GreenLynk, said it would sell the 01, 03, 05, and 09 models.

Lynk & Co was established by Geely in 2016, six years after it bought Swedish firm Volvo. It focuses on high-end products, targeting tech-savvy young customers.

The new work, by John Hopkins Medicine, targets the antioxidant compound epigallocatechin gallate, commonly known under the acronym EGCG.

The EGCG compound in green tea may help fight "incurable" tumors that 77% of women may experience.

Research shows that EGCG not only helps reduce the risk of tumor forms in general through drinking green tea, but also has the potential to help develop a drug that helps treat and prevent uterine fibroids, a disease with an incidence of up to 77% in women.

"The goal is to test how EGCG works to treat and prevent uterine aborts. There are no tools to stop their development, so finding a safe non-surgical therapy is critical," said Dr. James Segars from John Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Published in the journal Scientific Reports, the scientists investigated the effects of EGCG on 3 proteins involved in tumor formation and growth in utero, showing that it reduced the concentration of these types by 46% to 86% compared to the control group.

These effects will have a powerful effect on "locking in" growing tumors, as well as potentially helping to create a drug that is more effective than a natural supplement for people in risk groups.

An average of 77% of women will develop uterine fibroids in their lifetime, with some communities of color having particularly high rates.

Although this is a benign tumor, about 25% of uterine fibroids will have symptoms such as heavy uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, and infertility.

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, this is the leading cause of women having a hysterectomy.

Meanwhile, EGCG in recent years has been considered a potential compound for medicine, because of its extremely strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.
